We are looking for someone who loves dessert and has a positive attitude to join our small team!

Shifts Needed: Friday 11 am - 5 pm; Saturday 3 pm to close (typically 7:30 to 8 pm), with the possibility of additional days/hours in the future

Pay: $13/hour

​​This position primarily helps with front of house responsibilities, including serving customers, running the register, and keeping the bakery clean and tidy. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude and willingness to learn who loves desserts and wants to be part of a small, woman-owned business. Prior experience is not required, just a positive attitude and a love of cake!

Primary responsibilities are as follows, but not limited to:

• Provide great customer service by greeting customers and serving them in a timely manner. Be ready to answer questions about various menu items by familiarizing yourself with our desserts. Communicate with the kitchen if needed to answer specific food-related questions.

• Serve customers and package up orders as needed, including but not limited to slicing cakes and pouring coffee. Brew coffee as needed.

• Regularly check all displays for cleanliness and organization. Ensure that price tags and labels are visible and correct. 

• Ensure that packaging materials (cake boxes, cupcake containers, etc.) are well-stocked and stickered/stamped with our logo.

• Communicate with the kitchen as needed to keep desserts stocked.

• Wipe down tables and pick up stray garbage in customer seating area as needed. Ensure that customer self-service station is stocked with forks, napkins, creamer, and sugar at all times.

• Periodically check bathrooms for cleanliness and clean as needed.

• Sweep and mop at the end of the work day, as well as during the day if needed.

• Answer the phone and answer customer inquiries professionally and politely.

Requirements:

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Ability to read and listen to, comprehend, and follow simple instructions

• Ability to multitask and problem solve on the spot

• Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to add and subtract and to perform these operations using units of American money

• Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment

• Must be available to work evenings and weekends (Fridays and Saturdays)

Physical and Work Conditions:

• Repetitive hand/arm movements, such as grasping, bending, reaching, slicing

• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds by oneself

• Ability to use tools and equipment including but not limited to cake servers, knives, tongs

• Required to spend long periods of time on feet
